Buzzkill

Author: Beth Fantaskey (I love her name!!)

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I haven’t read mystery books in awhile and this was a great way to get back into it.

In the book Millie Ostermeyer, the main character, just wants to sail through her last year in high school. Of course, that doesn’t happen. Instead she finds the dead body of the head football coach. And the prime suspect is her father. Millie has to clear her fathers name and find the real killer.

As I read this book, I realized that this book wasn’t just a mystery book. This book included Millie’s relationship with her father, which wasn’t going well. Surprisingly a murder brought them closer together.

There was also some romance, which I loved, but it started taking away from the murder. At some points it started feeling like I was reading a romance novel and not a murder mystery. I feel that the book would’ve been so much better if more of the focus was on solving the mystery and not falling in love.
