What is Immigration?

It’s leaving your home for a better world,

It’s learning a new language you will never completely know.

It’s living in a country that will never accept you.

It’s giving up a part of yourself.

It is pain and sacrifice,

the kind that I will never know,

but the kind my parents continue to hold close to their hearts.

It is hope that your kids will succeed.

It is hope that maybe one day you’ll be able to call this country home.
